Masculinist discourses have defended the existence of “misandrist laws” that institutionalize hatred against men. This article investigates the construction of moral panic surrounding the legal system in the discourse of the Brazilian manosphere, linked to the notions of helplessness and resentment.Through a rhetorical analysis of videos about laws published by Redcast, we identified a strong focus on issues related to family, sexuality, and violence, with particular emphasis on the Maria da Penha Law. The results indicate an incitement to resentment aimed at producing a sense of helplessness among male audiences by constructing two main enemies: the State and feminism.
